The Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technologies completed a specialized research study on the "Obstacles to Transitioning Towards Clean Energy," under the supervision of Asst. Lect. Shahad Mahmoud Mohammed and with the active participation of the department's students. The work focused on implementing a field survey targeting university students to measure the level of academic and youth awareness regarding the challenges of replacing oil and gas with renewable energy. Held within the department's corridors and lecture halls, the study explored potential solutions to reduce total reliance on fossil fuels and enhance energy consumption efficiency in educational institutions and society. This initiative aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to Quality Education, Clean Energy, Industry and Innovation, and Climate Action, in an effort to reduce carbon emissions and link scientific outcomes with global sustainability requirements.
