As part of the 4th Sustainability Week activities, a specialized workshop was held titled **"The Role of Smart Materials in Developing Sustainable Energy."** The workshop explored the fundamental transformations that modern materials science brings to the efficiency of energy production and storage. This scientific activity aimed to highlight how innovative materials characterized by their ability to respond to environmental changes can be utilized to enhance solar cell performance and develop more sustainable energy storage systems. These efforts align with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). Discussions focused on the technical potential of these materials to minimize energy waste and provide smart engineering solutions to climate challenges. This took place amidst active participation from academics and students, who emphasized that the integration between materials technology and energy science is the cornerstone for building a green and sustainable industrial future.
