The Department of Medical Instrumentation Engineering Techniques at the College of Engineering Technology, Mustaqbal University, organized an extensive awareness campaign on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. The campaign targeted third-year students, focusing on the impact of drugs on individuals and society to enhance health and preventive awareness within the university environment. Supervised by Dr. Osama Jaber, Asst. Lect. Ali Kareem, and Asst. Lect. Amer Mohammed Khalaf, the campaign aimed to highlight the physical and psychological risks of narcotics. It addressed their direct impact on the nervous system and the alteration of behavior and perception, which lead to serious social issues such as addiction and increased crime rates. The event included educational discussions focusing on the importance of prevention and the pivotal role of institutions in curbing this phenomenon by providing support and treatment. The supervisors emphasized that building a conscious and responsible generation is the true guarantee for protecting society and ensuring a future full of achievement. This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education), striving to create a safe educational environment that ensures the welfare of engineering cadres and supports social peace.
