As part of the Fourth Sustainability Week activities, the College of Health and Medical Technologies at AL-Mustaqbal University, specifically the Department of Dental Technology, organized a scientific lecture and specialized workshop entitled “3D Printing in Dental Technology and Dentistry.” This event aligns with the college’s direction toward enhancing practical skills and keeping pace with modern technologies in the medical field.
The workshop featured the participation of dentist Hussein Al-Hasani, with technical and scientific support from the American company Sprintray, specialized in digital dentistry technologies. It was attended by a large group of students from the Department of Dental Technology, in addition to dentistry students, reflecting the growing interest in modern technologies within the healthcare sector.
The workshop included a detailed practical explanation of how digital designs are transformed into physical models using 3D printers, along with clarification of the steps involved in preparing and processing designs prior to printing, and converting them into executable digital commands for the printer.
It also demonstrated the use of Ultimaker Cura software in model preparation and professional settings adjustment to ensure high accuracy and quality in the final output.
This activity comes within the efforts of the College of Health and Medical Technologies at AL-Mustaqbal University, particularly the Department of Dental Technology, to support the shift toward modern digital technologies and to reinforce the concept of sustainability through the employment of technology in advancing medical and educational practices.
