The College of Medicine organized an awareness lecture entitled “Domestic Violence: Causes and Ways to Reduce It,” delivered by Lecturer Dr. Tayba Jassim, with the attendance of a number of faculty members and students. This event was held ضمن the framework of scientific and educational activities aimed at enhancing community awareness of health and social issues.
The lecture addressed a highly important topic that directly impacts family cohesion and societal stability. It highlighted the main causes of domestic violence, including psychological, economic, social, and cultural factors, in addition to outlining the negative consequences of this phenomenon on individuals, particularly from psychological, health, and social perspectives.
The lecture also focused on key approaches to reducing domestic violence, including raising community awareness, activating the role of laws, supporting victims, and promoting a culture of dialogue and understanding within the family, thereby contributing to building a safe and stable environment for all.
This activity comes as part of the Deanship of the College of Medicine’s commitment to supporting awareness initiatives that serve the community and promote psychological and social well-being.
