President of Al-Mustaqbal University Signs a Letter of Intent with the University of Reading to Strengthen Academic and Research Cooperation

As part of its ongoing commitment to expanding international partnerships and engaging with prestigious global academic institutions, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdy, signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the renowned University of Reading in the United Kingdom. The signing ceremony and accompanying discussions were attended by distinguished officials, including the Iraqi Cultural Attaché to the United Kingdom, Professor Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi. The British side was represented by a high-level academic and administrative delegation consisting of: Professor Elizabeth Allen, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) and Head of the Global Engagement Academy at the University of Reading. Professor Keiichi Nakata, Professor of Social Informatics and Director of the Informatics Research Centre at Henley Business School. Mr. Alex Boughton, Director of Global Engagement and Executive Assistant to the Director of External Relations. Ms. Irem Ozsoy, Senior Regional Manager for International Student Recruitment. Areas of Future Collaboration The signed Letter of Intent aims to open new horizons for scientific, academic, and research collaboration between the two universities. The key areas of cooperation include: Joint Academic Programs: Exploring mechanisms for establishing Double Degree and Progression Degree programs. Scholarships and Student Support: Discussing the provision of scholarships and tuition discounts for students. Scientific Research: Identifying opportunities for joint research projects, academic collaboration, and the exchange of expertise and knowledge between the two institutions. On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, commemorative shields were exchanged between the President of Al-Mustaqbal University and the British delegation as a symbol of the strong bilateral academic relationship and a celebration of this promising partnership. In a supportive and encouraging gesture toward the academic journey of Iraqi students abroad, Professor Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi and the President of Al-Mustaqbal University also met with a group of Iraqi students and researchers studying at the University of Reading in front of the university’s Central Library. The meetings provided an opportunity to learn about their academic progress, listen to their needs, and encourage them to continue striving for excellence and distinction in service of their country.
