Al-Mustaqbal University Tops Iraqi Universities in Clarivate Research Indicators

Al-Mustaqbal University continues its leading journey in supporting scientific research and developing the academic environment, achieving a remarkable and exceptional leap in the latest results of globally recognized research indicators on the **InCites – Web of Science (Clarivate)** platform for the period from **2020 to 2025**, according to the approved update dated **July 31, 2026**. The scientific evaluations demonstrated the university’s academic capabilities and excellence in competing with some of Iraq’s most prestigious public universities, further confirming its position as one of the leading educational and research institutions in the region. According to the official data issued by the global database, **Al-Mustaqbal University ranked first among all Iraqi universities, both public and private, in the volume of scientific publications in top-quartile Q1 journals**, which are characterized by high impact factors, with a total of **1,560 publications**. In doing so, the university surpassed prestigious institutions such as the **University of Baghdad** and the **University of Technology**. The university’s achievements extended beyond this indicator, as it also ranked **third among all Iraqi universities and first among Iraqi private universities and colleges** in publications in **Q2 journals**, with **1,177 publications**, ranking directly after the University of Baghdad and the University of Technology. In terms of the quality and scientific impact of research outputs, **Al-Mustaqbal University ranked third in Iraq and first among private universities** in the indicator of research papers belonging to the **Top 10% of the world’s most influential research**, with **620 publications**, competing with some of Iraq’s most prestigious universities and academic institutions. In a statement to the university’s Media Office, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, **Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi**, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the university’s faculty members and researchers for their outstanding efforts, which have contributed to achieving these significant accomplishments. He emphasized that this qualitative excellence reflects the continued success of the strategic vision adopted by the university administration in fostering an environment of innovation, supporting researchers and academic staff, and focusing on high-quality publications in prestigious international journals with high impact.
