In a significant academic achievement reflecting the growing presence of Iraqi higher education on the international stage, the European Commission announced that Al-Mustaqbal University had been awarded funding for an academic and research project under the Jean Monnet Grants of the Erasmus+ Programme, supported by the European Union. This achievement represents a significant milestone in the university's journey, as it marks the first time that an Iraqi university has received this prestigious grant, with the project receiving 100% European funding from the European Commission to implement an academic project entitled “One Health in EU Policy: Implications for Medical and Health Practice” This achievement is the result of sustained efforts and institutional work spanning more than four years. During this period, international academic cooperation within Iraqi universities witnessed significant development, beginning with introducing Erasmus+ programs and establishing specialized academic and administrative units under the name “Erasmus” within educational institutions, progressing to active participation in international competitions and programs and securing European funding for academic projects.
