The University of Almustaqbal participated with a high-level academic delegation in the specialized workshop organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the international Clarivate Foundation at the University of Baghdad on Thursday, August 20, 2026, under the title: "Building a University System to Transform Knowledge into Economic Value," in line with the university's vision and its president, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, in consolidating effective academic presence and enhancing scientific innovation. Leadership Presence and Governmental Vision for Development The workshop witnessed wide participation of an elite group of academic leaders and experts, with the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Communications, Mr. Mustafa Sanad, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Abd Dahd. Professor Dr. Haider Abd Dahd emphasized in his speech the importance of transforming Iraqi universities from the traditional role of producing knowledge to a more effective role that links scientific research with economic development, stressing the following axes: Developing the educational structure: Expanding the application of the Bologna track and digital transformation. Linking the university with industry: Activating industrial advisory councils and establishing science and technology parks. International partnerships: Expanding cooperation with international scientific institutions and responding to market needs. Workshop Axes and Technology Transfer The workshop included presentations and lectures given by representatives of the Clarivate Foundation (Dr. Ayman Aqeel and Dr. Walid Hassan), which dealt with practical mechanisms for knowledge and innovation management, and focused on: Technology transfer and intellectual property protection. Supporting entrepreneurship and directing research to address production and development challenges. High-level Representation of the University of Future The delegation of the University of Future was headed by Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi (Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision), and with the presence of: Professor Dr. Tariq Jawad Kadhim (Director of the Scientific Affairs Department). Dr. Samir Badrawi (Director of the Cultural Relations Department). Dr. Abdullah Musa Kadhim (Consultant, Scientific Affairs Department). The delegation's participation in the discussion sessions resulted in presenting visions that enhance the building of an institutional environment supportive of innovation and partnership between the academic and investment sectors. This participation confirms the University of Almustaqbal continuous commitment to developing its research system, expanding its institutional partnerships, and investing in education and innovation outputs to serve society and achieve sustainable development goals.
