Al-Mustaqbal University concluded the specialized training workshop on Erasmus+ programs and grants, organized by the European Union Delegation to Iraq in cooperation with the Department of International and Arab Organizations at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with the participation of representatives from a number of public and private universities in the Middle Euphrates region, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University. The final day of the workshop featured a series of training and interactive sessions addressing several key topics, including: Erasmus Mundus opportunities for students and academic staff, along with application requirements. Building academic partnerships and developing joint Master’s degree programs. Mechanisms for developing competitive international projects and proposals. International Credit Mobility (ICM) and student exchange opportunities. Administrative and financial aspects of European-funded projects. Opportunities to apply for Jean Monnet Actions and grants. Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi emphasized the importance of moving beyond simply introducing Erasmus+ programs toward effectively utilizing available opportunities to establish viable international partnerships and projects. He also highlighted the importance of leveraging the outcomes of the workshop to develop the capacities of Iraqi universities and strengthen their engagement in European academic and research cooperation programs. The three-day workshop aimed to enhance the readiness of Iraqi universities to benefit from European Union programs, while strengthening their capabilities in developing international projects and establishing academic and research partnerships.
