Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, President of Almustaqbal University, participated in a specialized workshop organized by the Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee of the Iraqi Council of Representatives to discuss the proposed new Private Higher Education Law. The workshop was attended by a number of committee members, presidents of public and private universities, as well as representatives of academic unions, associations, and relevant professional bodies. During the workshop, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi presented a working paper containing a number of observations and proposals regarding several articles and provisions of the proposed law. His contributions aimed to enrich the legislative discussion, support the further development of the proposed legislation, and strengthen academic standards and the quality of higher education outcomes. The President of Almustaqbal University emphasized the importance of continued dialogue between legislative bodies, educational institutions, and academic stakeholders in developing the legal framework governing private higher education and enhancing integration and cooperation between public and private higher education institutions in Iraq. At the conclusion of his participation, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi expressed his appreciation to the Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee of the Iraqi Council of Representatives for its efforts in discussing the proposed legislation and for engaging academic institutions in the development of higher education-related laws.
