Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a significant academic and scientific milestone by appearing for the first time in the *Times Higher Education* World University Rankings 2027 (THE WUR 2027)—one of the world’s most prestigious university rankings. The university secured a place in the 1201–1400 global band, a move that reflects the continuous advancement of its academic and research performance and strengthens its presence on the international university landscape. This ranking includes 2,297 universities from 118 countries and regions. Al-Mustaqbal University ranked second among Iraqi universities outside the Kurdistan Region, fourth when including universities from the region, and first among Iraq’s private universities—an achievement that marks a pivotal moment in the university's journey toward enhancing its global standing. The *Times Higher Education* ranking relies on a set of international indicators and criteria that measure university performance across key areas—including teaching, the research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook—providing a comprehensive framework for evaluating academic and research performance on a global scale. Regarding specific ranking indicators, Al-Mustaqbal University ranked second in Iraq for "International Outlook," fifth for "Research Environment," and sixth for "Research Quality." These results reflect the university's growing research activity, expanding international academic partnerships, and the ongoing development of its educational and research environments. On this occasion, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, congratulated the university’s faculty, staff, and students on this achievement. He expressed his appreciation and pride in the sustained efforts of the various academic, administrative, and research units—efforts that contributed to achieving this global presence and solidifying the university's standing in international rankings.
