Department of Architecture at Al-Mustaqbal University Organizes “Save the Place with Artificial Intelligence” Activity as Part of Architecture Day As part of Architecture Day celebrations, students of the Department of Architecture at Al-Mustaqbal University, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Duha Yasser Hamza, organized an activity entitled “Save the Place with Artificial Intelligence.” The activity aimed to utilize artificial intelligence technologies to develop innovative architectural and urban design concepts that contribute to preserving the identity of Iraqi places while exploring opportunities for their development. The activity involved selecting a number of places and sites across different Iraqi governorates, documenting their current conditions, and then developing creative architectural and urban design proposals using artificial intelligence technologies. The projects presented a visual comparison between the existing conditions and the proposed future designs through the “BEFORE | AFTER” concept. The students’ proposals focused on developing design solutions that respect the cultural and urban characteristics of each location while preserving its original identity and avoiding arbitrary changes. This approach reflected the activity’s central message: “Do Not Change the Place… Save Its Identity.” The students showcased their work through printed posters featuring a diverse range of creative ideas and design visions. Their projects demonstrated their ability to use artificial intelligence as a creative tool to support innovation in architectural and urban design. This activity reflects the Department of Architecture at Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to enhancing students’ design skills, keeping pace with emerging technologies, and connecting academic knowledge with community needs.
