Under the directives of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Shakir Majdi, the Department of Civil Engineering organized a field workshop for second-year students entitled “Study of Building Elevations.” This practical learning experience brought engineering knowledge beyond the classroom and into real-world structures. During the workshop, students used the university buildings as practical models to conduct surveying measurements, establish reference elevations, calculate elevation differences between structures, and relate their findings to the requirements of road design and utility networks. They also practiced interpreting engineering drawings and comparing them with actual site conditions. This workshop reflects the College of Engineering’s commitment to strengthening practical education and preparing engineers equipped with the skills of analysis, measurement, and implementation, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).
