President of Al-Mustaqbal University Participates in the Opening of the Third Iraq Education Conference Al-Mustaqbal University, represented by its President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, participated in the opening of the third Iraq Education Conference. The event, which commenced today, Wednesday, October 28, 2026, was held under the patronage and in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Haider Bahaa Al-Hasani, themed: "From Education to Development: Global Partnerships and Universities Shaping the Future." The conference saw high-level attendance, including the chair and members of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, the Head of the Advisory Board, several ministers and officials, as well as a distinguished group of academic leaders, experts, specialists, and prominent scientific and international figures. In his opening address, the Minister of Higher Education emphasized that the conference serves as a vital platform for exchanging expertise, expanding the horizons of institutional cooperation, and building strategic partnerships aimed at advancing the higher education system and strengthening the standing of Iraqi universities within regional and international academic arenas. The Minister explained that the Ministry’s vision is centered on establishing the concept of the "productive university" by supporting applied scientific research, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, strengthening partnerships with both the public and private sectors, and developing technology incubators to align educational outcomes with labor market needs and the requirements of sustainable development. The opening ceremony featured keynote speeches delivered by Professor Jim Burke, President of Saint Leo University (USA), and Dr. Salman Rawaf, Director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre at Imperial College London. On the sidelines of the conference, the Minister inaugurated the Iraqi Higher Education Exhibition, which saw broad participation from Iraqi, Arab, and international universities. The exhibition aims to explore opportunities for academic cooperation, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and expand the scope of institutional and scientific partnerships.
