Al-Mustaqbal University continued its participation in the second and final day of the third Iraq Education Conference, hosted by the University of Baghdad on 29 October 2026 under the theme “From Education to Development: Global Partnerships and Universities Shaping the Future.” The University’s delegation was led by its President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, accompanied by University Adviser Professor Dr. Mohsen Al-Furaiji, Director of Academic Supervision Professor Dr. Mudhafar Al-Zuhairi, and Dean of the College of Engineering Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Shakir Majdi, alongside a group of faculty and staff members. On the sidelines of the conference, the delegation met with representatives of several American universities and educational institutions, including the University of Colorado, the University of California, Davis, and OHLA language institute. The delegation also met with the Cultural Adviser at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad to explore opportunities for academic cooperation, scholarly exchange, and the development of international partnerships. The closing day featured a panel discussion addressing university autonomy, the development of teaching and research environments, and the transition towards the productive university model. Discussions also highlighted the importance of aligning admissions policies and academic disciplines with labour market requirements and Iraq’s development needs, while strengthening coordination between higher education institutions and planning authorities. Al-Mustaqbal University’s participation forms part of its strategic commitment to advancing academic internationalisation, developing curricula, and establishing global partnerships that improve the quality of education and research and support sustainable development.
