The medical sector is witnessing rapid advances in surgery through the integration of surgical robots, which have become among the most prominent modern technologies supporting precise and complex medical procedures. These systems enable surgeons to perform operations with high levels of accuracy and control, particularly in specialities requiring advanced surgical skills, such as cardiac, brain, and spinal surgeries, as well as minimally invasive procedures. Surgical robots are distinguished by their ability to minimize hand tremors and enhance the stability of surgical instrument movements, in addition to accessing precise areas within the body through small surgical incisions. This helps reduce potential damage to surrounding tissues, minimize pain and blood loss, and shorten recovery periods in many cases. Advanced control interfaces also allow surgeons to guide instruments with highly precise movements, while artificial intelligence technologies contribute to analyzing medical images and providing supportive information during surgical procedures. The applications of surgical robots are not limited to performing operations in operating rooms; they also extend to medical education and training through simulation technologies. These technologies enable physicians and trainees to practise surgical procedures in virtual environments that closely resemble real-life conditions. This type of training helps develop practical skills, build confidence in managing complex cases, and improve preparedness before performing actual operations. With continued advances in artificial intelligence and robotic systems, surgery is moving towards more sophisticated levels of integration between human expertise and intelligent technologies, including the development of systems capable of providing advanced support for surgical planning and execution. This trend represents an important transformation towards enhancing patient safety, improving the efficiency of medical procedures, and achieving better treatment outcomes, while surgeons continue to play the essential role in supervision and medical decision-making.
