Fifth-Year Dentistry Students Complete a Full Denture for an Edentulous Patient On Sunday, November 1, 2026, fifth-year students at the College of Dentistry, Al-Mustaqbal University, completed a full set of dentures for a patient who had lost all of their natural teeth. This procedure was carried out as part of the clinical and practical training conducted in the college’s clinics, under the direct supervision of specialized dentists and faculty members, and with the oversight of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Adhraa Yahya Al-Hijazi. The procedure followed comprehensive clinical and radiographic examinations of the patient, ensuring that the jaws were free of any retained roots. This preparation was essential to ensure the patient’s safety and to ready the oral environment for the fabrication of the full denture, in accordance with established scientific and medical standards. This initiative aims to provide students with practical experience in the field of prosthodontics, helping them develop skills in diagnosing clinical cases, formulating and executing appropriate treatment plans, and mastering the technical and clinical stages involved in creating full dentures. The administration of the College of Dentistry at Al-Mustaqbal University emphasizes its commitment to strengthening the practical component of medical education. By providing students with opportunities to engage with real-life clinical cases, the college aims to prepare highly competent medical professionals capable of delivering treatment services that improve oral health and the overall quality of life for members of the community.
