Under the supervision of the lecturers M.M. Zaid Awad Atiyah and M.M. Ria Naseef Jassim, students of the Department of Archaeology at Al-Mustaqbal University carried out a distinguished student activity involving the construction of a Ziggurat monument. This activity comes as part of practical exercises aimed at enhancing students’ hands-on skills and linking theoretical knowledge with studies of ancient Iraqi civilizations.
The activity reflected an important aspect of the architectural heritage of Mesopotamian civilization, as the students worked on modeling the shape of the ziggurat in an educational artistic style that highlights its historical and architectural details, under the direct supervision of the supervising instructors.
This work aims to develop students’ abilities in reconstructing archaeological models, understanding ancient architectural techniques, and enhancing teamwork and scientific creativity within the department.
The supervisors praised the students’ efforts and perseverance in completing the work, emphasizing the importance of such activities in developing archaeology students’ skills and better preparing them practically.
