Organized by the Media Department at the College of Arts and Humanities, Al-Mustaqbal University, a specialized workshop titled "The Dangers of Extremism to Social Peace" was held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. The session took place in one of the department’s halls, attended by a group of students and individuals interested in media and academic affairs. Presented by Lecturer Dr. Mohammed Fayadh Hassan, the workshop reviewed the concept of extremism and the prominent threats it poses to the cohesion and stability of societies. He highlighted its negative role in spreading a culture of violence and undermining the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, while also addressing the direct impacts of extremism on the social fabric and the resulting sharp divisions that hinder construction and development paths. The workshop focused on mechanisms to protect youth from intellectual exploitation and direct them toward positive paths that serve society. The event witnessed extensive interactive discussions between the lecturer and the students, centered on the paramount importance of the media's role in spreading awareness, promoting a culture of moderation, and confronting extremist discourse with professional and responsible methods capable of fortifying public opinion. These activities are part of the cultural and awareness program adopted by the Media Department to enhance human and national values among students, in line with Al-Mustaqbal University's mission to build a conscious and stable academic environment.
