The Community Health Technologies Department at Al-Mustaqbal University organized, on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, a scientific workshop as part of the “Fourth Al-Mustaqbal International Sustainability Week,” held in the Student Activities Hall at the College of Health and Medical Technologies building, in the presence of the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Aqeel Handhal Tarish, with the participation of academic staff and students. This workshop aimed to highlight modern approaches in community-based practice education and enhance problem-solving skills within healthcare teams, contributing to improving the competencies of students and healthcare professionals. The workshop included a scientific lecture delivered by Prof. Dr. Hassan Alwan Yabiee, Dean of the College of Nursing at Al-Hilla National University, consultant at the World Health Organization, and specialist in public health and community medicine. The lecture focused on the application of the District Team Problem Solving approach as a modern method in community-based education. The session also included discussions of practical applications and real-life models in community health, with emphasis on the role of healthcare teams in improving public health outcomes and promoting sustainability concepts. The workshop witnessed active attendance and engagement from academic staff and students, enriched by scientific discussions that facilitated knowledge exchange. Professor Dr. Aqeel Handhal Tarish emphasized the importance of such workshops in developing students’ academic and practical skills and strengthening the university’s role in applied education serving the community. The workshop concluded with appreciation for the efforts of organizers and participants in making the event successful.
