Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies Department Conducts a Case Study on Women’s Empowerment

A case study entitled “Women’s Empowerment in the Future Sustainability Week” was conducted in the Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies Department at the Technical Engineering College on April 14, 2026, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in collaboration with the Women’s Affairs Division. This activity was held within the framework of the Future Sustainability Week, with the participation of the Technical Engineering College, its departments, and research centers. The study aimed to evaluate the level of women’s empowerment and participation in scientific events. The results showed that female participation accounted for (35%), reflecting a significant presence and active contribution by female students in enriching the event’s activities. However, the findings also highlighted the need to further enhance and support women’s empowerment to increase their effectiveness in scientific and technical fields. The study aligns with the Third National Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (2025–2030), particularly the protection pillar, which focuses on enhancing women’s safety and participation in scientific and digital environments. It also contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 5: Gender Equality. Al-Mustaqbal University, ranked first among private universities in Iraq, reaffirms its commitment to empowering women and fostering an inclusive and sustainable academic and research environment.
