The Department of Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies at the Engineering Technical College, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, held a scientific activity titled “Internet of Vehicles (IoV) Security” as part of Future Sustainability Week events on April 13, 2026, at Al-Mustaqbal University, aiming to highlight the importance of securing intelligent transportation systems and their role in achieving safe and sustainable cities.
The activity addressed major cybersecurity threats, particularly impersonation attacks such as Sybil, GPS spoofing, and replay attacks, in addition to technical challenges like high mobility and the need for real-time data processing. It also reviewed a set of proposed solutions, including the use of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), trust models, and deep learning techniques to enhance network security.
This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), by supporting modern trends in digital transformation and the development of smart and secure transportation systems.
Al-Mustaqbal University, the leading private university in Iraq, reaffirms its commitment to supporting scientific activities that contribute to building an advanced technological environment and promoting sustainability concepts.
