The Department of Power Mechanical Engineering Technologies organized a specialized awareness campaign on solar energy and photovoltaic systems the university campus on April 15, 2026, in cooperation with Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center, as part of the International Sustainability Week activities.
This initiative reflects the department’s leading role in promoting renewable energy awareness and strengthening environmental consciousness among students. The campaign aimed to present simplified scientific content highlighting the importance of solar energy as one of the most prominent clean energy sources, and its effective role in reducing emissions and achieving sustainability.
The campaign was supervised by Assistant Lecturers Asmaa Mohammed Hamid and Israa Mohammed Hassan, under the direct guidance of the department. It included the distribution of educational materials explaining how photovoltaic systems work and how sunlight is converted into electrical energy, in addition to showcasing their practical applications and economic and environmental benefits.
The campaign also witnessed strong engagement from students, demonstrating the department’s success in reinforcing clean energy concepts and encouraging the adoption of sustainable solutions within the university community.
This activity is part of a series of initiatives led by the department aimed at supporting innovation in renewable energy and reinforcing its role as a key contributor to spreading modern engineering knowledge and serving the community.
