The Department of Power Mechanical Engineering Technologies organized an awareness campaign titled “Together Against Diabetes”, as part of its efforts to enhance community awareness about the importance of early diagnosis and adopting a healthy lifestyle to prevent the disease and reduce its complications. The campaign aimed to spread health awareness among students and the community by introducing the symptoms of diabetes and methods of prevention, as well as emphasizing the importance of regular check-ups and early detection, given their significant role in controlling the disease and minimizing its risks. The campaign witnessed active participation from the department’s rapporteur, Dr. Marwan Abbas Mazloom, and Assistant Lecturer Ali Baqir Hussein, along with a group of department students, who provided health guidance and awareness tips, and distributed educational materials highlighting the importance of proper nutrition and regular physical activity. This initiative comes ضمن a series of community activities that the department is keen to organize, reaffirming its role in serving the community and contributing to spreading health awareness, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 related to good health and well-being.
