On 2026/4/22 the English Department at the College of Education Al-Mustaqbal University held an extensive scientific workshop presented by Dr Mamoon Sami Saleh titled Doctor Faustus Through New Historicism the workshop witnessed significant attendance from faculty members and undergraduate students who actively engaged with the critical discussions presented the session provided a profound analytical study of the famous theatrical text by linking it to the complex historical social and political contexts of the sixteenth century during which it was written the researcher emphasized how the text interacted with cultural forces and power struggles of the Elizabethan era explaining that literature is inseparable from its historical reality this offered the audience a unique opportunity to understand the intellectual philosophical and existential dimensions presented by Christopher Marlowe in his timeless work through a contemporary critical lens this specialized workshop is part of a series of scientific activities and periodic seminars that the department is keen to organize to enrich the academic landscape and develop students' rigorous literary analysis skills while introducing them to the latest international critical approaches which contributes to enhancing the quality of educational and research outcomes at the university
