The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, participated in a high-level ministerial delegation that visited the Arab Republic of Egypt, headed by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahd. The visit aimed to strengthen frameworks for joint academic cooperation between the two brotherly countries and activate scientific partnerships.
The visit focused on implementing memoranda of understanding and advancing the level of scientific research. The tour included key strategic stops, most notably at Al-Azhar University, where the delegation met with its leadership to discuss avenues for integration in scientific and research fields, as well as the exchange of academic expertise to support educational progress in both countries.
The visit also included close follow-up on joint postgraduate programs with Mansoura University. The successful collaboration between Al-Mustaqbal University and Mansoura University in hosting a Master’s degree in Law at Al-Mustaqbal University was praised as a pioneering and constructive experience between Egypt and Iraq. Emphasis was placed on overcoming challenges facing researchers and expanding cooperation in rare and emerging specializations.
Furthermore, the delegation held extensive meetings at the headquarters of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Egypt to discuss mechanisms for mutual recognition, academic twinning programs, and support for initiatives aimed at improving university rankings in global indexing databases.
As part of supporting international publishing efforts, the delegation met with the regional office of Elsevier and reviewed the latest scientific publishing technologies using artificial intelligence (AI in Research). They also explored ways to enhance the global visibility of Iraqi research.
The delegation’s visit also included a tour of Entelegy (EnTalaq) Company for Communications and Information Technology at Mansoura University. During the meeting, the company’s team presented its أبرز achievements in digital transformation and the development of technological infrastructure in universities and hospitals—efforts that were highly praised by the delegation as a leading Egyptian model in supporting education and academic and medical services.
For his part, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi expressed his deep appreciation for the significant role played by the Deputy Minister, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahd, in leading this scientific movement. He emphasized that Al-Mustaqbal University’s participation in this delegation reflects its ongoing commitment to implementing international quality standards and providing an advanced educational and research environment through partnerships with prestigious Egyptian institutions.
This visit comes as part of a series of steps taken by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to enhance international openness and achieve excellence in scientific research outcomes.
