As part of Sustainability Week at Al-Mustaqbal University, the Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries organized a distinguished scientific activity featuring an engineering model that illustrates the network of piping and heat exchangers connecting different process units. The model aims to demonstrate the mechanism of fluid transfer and heat exchange within chemical and petroleum facilities, highlighting the role of these systems in improving operational efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and minimizing harmful emissions, in alignment with environmental sustainability principles. This activity also seeks to enhance students’ practical understanding by linking theoretical concepts studied in academic courses with real industrial applications, while developing their skills in the design and operation of engineering units within refineries and production plants. The organizers emphasized that this work reflects the university’s commitment to supporting student innovation, promoting a culture of sustainability, and preparing engineers capable of providing modern technical solutions that contribute to industrial development and environmental protection.
