As part of the activities of Sustainability Week, an educational booklet was prepared to explain how to read labels on medical packaging. The booklet was developed with the participation of a number of students from the Aesthetic and Laser Techniques Department, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Fatima Hashem Abbas and Dr. Haider Riyadh Awais from the department staff at the College of Health and Medical Technologies.
The booklet was produced through a workshop and practical training sessions aimed at enhancing students’ and beneficiaries’ awareness of how to understand the symbols and information printed on medical and cosmetic packaging. This contributes to promoting safe and rational use of these products and reducing improper usage that may lead to health risks. The activity also focused on health awareness aspects and linked them to concepts of public safety and consumer protection.
This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), by promoting a culture of conscious and responsible use of medical and cosmetic products.
