A European introductory session on research and innovation funding has been announced by the European Training Laboratory, scheduled to be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at its headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, with online participation available for Iraqi researchers via Zoom. The session is expected to last between two to three hours. The session aims to enable researchers, research managers, and stakeholders in the field of innovation to understand the mechanisms for applying to European funding programs and how to benefit from them in developing their scientific projects and enhancing opportunities for international collaboration. It will include an opening presentation by the head of the laboratory, followed by a comprehensive overview of funding schemes, application procedures, and research collaboration opportunities. This initiative comes in support of Iraqi researchers and to enhance their integration into international research programs, contributing to the development of the academic and research environment and opening new horizons for scientific cooperation, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). The event highlights the importance of academic openness and international collaboration in advancing scientific research, an approach adopted by Al-Mustaqbal University, the leading private university in Iraq, through supporting scientific activities that enhance researchers’ capabilities and strengthen their international presence.
