Professor Dr. Akram Faraj Al-Rubaie, Head of the Media Department at the College of Arts and Humanities, Al-Mustaqbal University, chaired the dialogue session for the media track titled "Media Ethics and Professional Responsibility in Confronting Intellectual Extremism and Hate Speech via Media and Social Networks." This took place as part of the 2nd Counter-Extremism Conference organized by Al-Nahrain University on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. The session featured the participation of an elite group of academics and officials, including the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, Professor Dr. Fadhil Al-Badrani, and the Head of the Deans' Committee of Media Colleges in Iraq and Dean of the College of Media at the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Ammar Taher, along with the Head of the Media Department at Al-Turath University, Dr. Ziyad Al-Arraq. The event was attended by high-level figures, including the presidents of Al-Nahrain, Al-Mustansiriya, and Al-Karkh University of Science. Professor Dr. Akram Faraj Al-Rubaie’s participation in this scientific forum comes within the framework of activating cooperation and academic partnership between Al-Mustaqbal University and Al-Nahrain University. This contributes to enhancing the scientific and media role in confronting issues of extremism and hate speech, and solidifying the values of social peace through media platforms and digital outlets.
