Electronic nose technology relies on artificial intelligence and chemical sensors to analyze odors emitted from the human body, enabling the early detection of many diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and liver diseases. This technology is based on understanding the chemical changes in volatile organic compounds released by the body, as studies have shown that each disease produces a specific pattern of chemical compounds in breath, sweat, or urine. The major advantage of the electronic nose lies in its ability to detect diseases quickly and with accuracy that may surpass some traditional tests. It provides a non-invasive and easy-to-use method for the early detection of chronic diseases, such as cancer in its early stages, making it an effective preventive tool. This technology is considered a potential alternative to costly and painful tests, especially in diagnosing diseases that require continuous monitoring, such as respiratory disorders. Despite these advantages, the technology still faces several challenges that require further research and development. First, electronic noses need improved accuracy and reliability through large-scale studies before they can be widely adopted in healthcare institutions. In addition, these devices require comprehensive testing to verify their ability to detect a wide range of diseases using diverse odor patterns. With ongoing advances in artificial intelligence and sensor technologies, electronic noses are expected to become a major component of future diagnostic tools. In the near future, this technology may offer an effective solution for early disease detection at stages when treatment can be more successful.
