As part of the scientific activities organized by the Department of Architecture Engineering at the College of Engineering / Al-Mustaqbal University, a scientific workshop entitled “Does Everyone Who Draws Actually Design?” was held to clarify the difference between drawing as a skill and design as an intellectual process based on analysis, creativity, and problem-solving.
The workshop addressed the concept of design thinking and its importance in the architectural process, focusing on transforming ideas into well-studied architectural solutions that consider functional, aesthetic, and environmental aspects. It also emphasized that drawing skills alone are not sufficient without understanding design relationships, user needs, and environmental context.
The workshop witnessed active student interaction through discussions and questions related to developing design thinking and enhancing creative abilities in the field of architecture.
This workshop comes within the department’s efforts to strengthen students’ academic and practical knowledge and develop their intellectual and creative skills in line with the requirements of modern architectural education.
