The Aesthetic and Laser Techniques Department at Al-Mustaqbal University, the leading private university in Iraq, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit, organized an awareness seminar entitled “Awareness of the Importance of Respecting Women” on Sunday, May 18, 2026, under the patronage of Professor Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and presented by Assistant Lecturer Himen Waleed مظلوم and Ms. Shahd Nawras. The seminar aimed to promote a culture of respect for women, reinforce the values of equality and social justice, and support women’s active role in building society and achieving sustainable development. The seminar addressed the importance of respecting women and raising community awareness about their rights, while emphasizing their essential role in development and in building a balanced and safe society. Several key topics were discussed, focusing on reducing discrimination and violence and enhancing an educational and social environment that supports women’s academic and societal empowerment. This seminar aligns with the vision of Al-Mustaqbal University in supporting women’s issues and promoting a culture of respect and equality. The activity also falls within the framework of implementing the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (2025–2030), under the Protection and Prevention Pillar / Paragraph (2), which emphasizes spreading a culture of respect for women and strengthening their active participation in society. The seminar also contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5: Gender Equality, and Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
