Al-Mustaqbal University’s Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technologies organized an interactive lecture for first-year students within the Advanced Mathematics course, under the supervision of the Head of Department, Assist. Prof. Zahraa Hashim Karim, on 13/05/2026. The activity was conducted within the framework of student-centered learning based on the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) methodology and in alignment with the requirements and pathways of the Bologna educational system. The event included a competitive scientific contest between male and female student teams, where the test was conducted using the Open Book approach. The activity aimed to develop analytical thinking, teamwork skills, and reliance on understanding and practical application of mathematical concepts, contributing to the creation of an interactive educational environment that encouraged creativity and active student participation. The competition consisted of two rounds, with the male team winning the first round and the female team winning the second round, resulting in an overall tie amid an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and positive interaction among students. This activity was part of the classroom engagement mechanisms adopted in modern educational processes and contributed to students’ formative assessment grades, which represent an essential component of the Bologna Process. The initiative also supports the Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education and fostering an innovative and inclusive learning environment. Al-Mustaqbal University, the leading private university in Iraq, continues to support interactive educational activities that enhance students’ academic and scientific competencies.
