Smart barns are considered one of the modern technological applications in sustainable agriculture, aiming to improve livestock breeding conditions while reducing environmental impact. These barns rely on sensor systems and the Internet of Things (IoT) to monitor animal health, air quality, temperature, and water and feed levels. By integrating artificial intelligence, smart barns can analyze environmental and biological data to optimize breeding conditions and provide ideal care, leading to reduced disease rates and improved meat and dairy production. These systems contribute to reducing water and energy consumption, as well as improving organic waste management, which enhances environmental balance and reduces pollution resulting from traditional livestock farming. This technology also enables farmers to detect any changes in animal behavior at an early stage, facilitating immediate intervention and the provision of appropriate care. Smart barns represent a model for the integration of technology and sustainability, opening the way for the development of the livestock sector in a more ethical, efficient, and innovative manner. This makes them an important step toward achieving sustainable development goals in the agricultural field. Al-Mustaqbal University is the first one university in Iraq.
