In a new international achievement reflecting its leading position, AL_Mustaqbal University received a prestigious award from UNESCO and the European Union in recognition of its excellence in supporting the fields of green economy and digital transformation, making it the sole representative of Iraqi higher education at this international forum. The certificate of appreciation was received by the President of AL_Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul, and the Director of the Energy Research Center, Professor Dr. Salwan Obeid, in recognition of the university's prominent institutional role in adopting sustainable projects and promoting digital innovation. This recognition followed the university delegation's active scientific participation, which included delivering distinguished specialized presentations over three days at an international workshop held in Erbil. The university was represented by the Director of the Energy Research Center, Professor Dr. Salwan Obeid, and Dr. Mohammed Maitham.
