Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a new international distinction as the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi; the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd; and the Director of the Energy Research Center, Professor Dr. Salwan Obaid, were awarded a high-level certificate of appreciation from UNESCO and the European Union. The recognition was granted in appreciation of the university’s outstanding contributions to supporting the green economy and digital transformation, representing Iraqi higher education as the sole academic beacon participating in this international forum. This distinguished recognition came following scientific presentations and active contributions delivered over three consecutive days during a specialized workshop held in Erbil. The university delegation, represented by Professor Dr. Salwan Obaid and Dr. Mohammed Maytham, presented a series of initiatives and projects in the presence of representatives from UNESCO Iraq Office and the European Union Office in the Kurdistan Region. The attendees expressed great admiration for the university’s leadership role and its sustainable projects, and were keen to present this recognition in acknowledgment of its remarkable efforts. Al-Mustaqbal University stood out as the only academic institution officially invited and honored during this international workshop, reflecting its national leadership in adopting sustainable development goals and promoting digital innovation.
