Aesthetic and Laser Techniques Department Conducts "Technical Skills and Opportunities" Training Course for Women's Empowerment

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women's Affairs Committee, in cooperation with the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Beauty and Laser Technologies, conducted a training course entitled “Technical Skills and Opportunities” on May 30, 2026. The course was delivered by Asst. Lect. Haiman Waleed Mazloom and Ms. Shahd Nawras, and was attended by a distinguished group of female students and faculty members. The course aimed to develop technical skills and enhance awareness of modern digital opportunities that contribute to women's academic and professional empowerment. The course sought to equip participants with essential digital skills, introduce them to key fields of online work, and strengthen their confidence in using technology in ways that support their independence and ability to keep pace with the demands of the modern labor market. It covered several topics, including the concept and importance of technical skills, major digital tools, freelance work opportunities and online platforms, digital marketing, professional identity building, and practical applications that enhanced participants’ hands-on experience. The course was implemented and supervised by the Department of Beauty and Laser Technologies, in line with the vision of Al-Mustaqbal University, the leading private university in Iraq, in supporting women's issues, promoting their academic and societal empowerment, and strengthening their role in achieving sustainable development. The activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 5: Gender Equality. This activity also falls within the framework of implementing the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace and Security (2025–2030) under the Empowerment Pillar, Paragraph (3), which emphasizes enhancing women's capacities, supporting their economic and technological empowerment, and encouraging their active participation in various aspects of life. At the conclusion of the course, participants emphasized the importance of continuing such training programs that contribute to building women's capacities and strengthening their impactful presence within academic and community environments. AL_mustaqbal University is the first university in Iraq
