Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, the university participated in the first day of a specialized workshop on the Erasmus+ program, which was attended by more than 110 representatives from universities and higher education institutions.
The three-day workshop aims to enable participants to learn about the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program and how to best utilize its projects, particularly in the areas of international academic cooperation, academic mobility, capacity building, and the development of educational and research projects.
The first day of the workshop addressed the program's core themes, highlighting Erasmus+ priorities, which include inclusion and diversity, digital transformation, environmental sustainability and addressing climate change, as well as promoting community engagement and strengthening democratic values.
The sessions also included a review of the most prominent opportunities available to Iraqi universities, including International Credit Mobility programs, capacity-building projects in higher education, and the Erasmus Mundus and Jean Monnet programs.
The workshop also included a discussion of the mechanisms for preparing competitive projects and their evaluation criteria, emphasizing the importance of aligning proposals with national priorities and indicators for developing the higher education sector.
Al-Mustaqbal University's participation comes within the framework of its strategy aimed at expanding its international network and strengthening its presence in European programs, thereby contributing to supporting internationalization, innovation, and sustainability efforts, and raising the quality of education according to best global practices.
