Al-Mustaqbal University participated in a specialized workshop on the Erasmus+ Programme, held with the participation of more than 110 representatives from universities and higher education institutions, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy, President of the University.
The three-day workshop aims to enhance participants’ understanding of Erasmus+ opportunities and the mechanisms for benefiting from its projects in the fields of international academic cooperation, academic mobility, capacity building, and the development of educational and research projects, thereby contributing to the advancement of higher education outcomes.
The first day of the workshop addressed the main priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme, including inclusion and diversity, digital transformation, environmental sustainability and climate change action, as well as promoting civic engagement and democratic values.
The workshop also highlighted opportunities available to Iraqi universities through International Credit Mobility (ICM), Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) projects, and the Erasmus Mundus and Jean Monnet programmes, all of which contribute to strengthening academic cooperation and expanding international partnerships.
In addition, specialized sessions discussed the mechanisms for developing competitive projects and the criteria used for their evaluation, with a focus on aligning project proposals with national priorities and higher education development indicators to enhance their success and sustainability.
Al-Mustaqbal University’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening its presence in international programmes and initiatives, expanding its global academic partnership network, and supporting internationalization, innovation, and sustainability efforts in line with international best practices and the continuous improvement of higher education quality.
