Al-Mustaqbal University Expands International Partnerships through a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Reading

Expanded its global academic network, Al-Mustaqbal University, the leading private university in Iraq, by signing a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the University of Reading, United Kingdom, as part of its ongoing strategy to strengthen international cooperation and engage with world-renowned academic institutions. The agreement aims to enhance academic, scientific, and research collaboration while supporting educational excellence and institutional development. The signing ceremony was held during an official visit attended by the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in the United Kingdom, alongside senior academic and administrative representatives from the University of Reading. During the meeting, both parties explored opportunities for strategic cooperation and discussed mechanisms for establishing a sustainable partnership that would benefit both institutions in the fields of education, research, and knowledge exchange. The memorandum focuses on several key areas of collaboration, including the development of dual-degree and academic progression programs, the provision of scholarships and student discounts, and the exploration of opportunities for joint scientific research projects and the exchange of expertise, knowledge, and academic experiences between the colleges and research centers of both universities. On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, commemorative shields were exchanged between the two institutions as a symbol of their growing academic relationship and commitment to future cooperation. The Iraqi delegation also met with a group of Iraqi students and researchers studying at the University of Reading to learn about their academic experiences, discuss their needs, and encourage them to continue striving for excellence and contributing to the development of their homeland. This initiative forms part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s ambitious strategy to strengthen its position within the international higher education landscape and provide outstanding educational and research opportunities for its students and academic staff. The partnership contributes to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
