In alignment with its humanitarian and cultural mission to commemorate religious occasions and root authentic Islamic values, Al-Mustaqbal University organized the annual ceremony of raising the banner of Imam Hussain (PBUH) on Saturday morning, June 20, 2026. Marking the beginning of the holy month of Muharram, the event was held in fruitful cooperation with the Holy Hussaini Shrine and under the direct patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdy. The solemn ceremony witnessed a high-profile academic and administrative attendance, including the University President, the Vice Presidents, the Director of the Diwan Affairs Department, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, alongside College Deans, and a large gathering of faculty members and staff. The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Khafaji, Head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate (Babil Branch). The university administration emphasized that holding this ceremony annually stems from its firm belief in the importance of remembering the eternal Hussaini uprising. The university highlights the sublime meanings of sacrifice, reform, championing truth, and adhering to noble human principles, ensuring that the message of Imam Hussain (PBUH) remains a guiding beacon of justice, dignity, and integrity for generations to come. The ceremony concluded with prayers to Almighty Allah to make this holy month an occasion for strengthening brotherhood and harmony, to protect Iraq and its people, and to bestow continuous security, stability, and peace upon the nation.
