Al-Mustaqbal University, ranked first among Iraqi private universities, has achieved a new academic milestone by leading all private universities and colleges in Iraq in the URAP World Ranking 2026, for the third consecutive year. The university previously maintained its top position in the 2024 and 2025 editions, reflecting its sustained institutional commitment to supporting scientific research and achieving academic excellence in line with international standards. This achievement comes following the announcement of the results of the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP), one of the leading global ranking systems that measures the academic performance and research output of higher education institutions. The university secured first place among Iraqi private universities and ranked third nationally among both public and private universities, following the University of Baghdad and the University of Technology. At the global level, Al-Mustaqbal University recorded a remarkable advancement of 294 positions compared to the previous year, reflecting continuous improvement in research quality, increased academic impact, and stronger international collaboration. URAP relies on verified data from Clarivate Analytics databases and is based on key performance indicators, including the number of published research papers, citation impact, research productivity, and international collaboration. These indicators ensure a high level of reliability in evaluating academic performance worldwide. This achievement reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to developing its research and academic environment and strengthening its presence in international rankings, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), thereby contributing to enhancing Iraq’s position in global academic forums.
