Al-Mustaqbal University, ranked first among Iraqi private universities, organized the ceremony of raising the Hussaini flag in cooperation with the Holy Hussaini Shrine, marking the beginning of the month of Muharram and commemorating the timeless event of Al-Taf (the Battle of Karbala). The event was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of the University. The ceremony, held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, inside the university campus, witnessed wide attendance from academic and administrative staff, including deans, faculty members, and employees, as well as a number of academic and community figures. The event reflected a profound connection to the spiritual, human, and ethical values embodied in the Hussaini uprising. This activity is part of a series of cultural and community events annually organized by the university, aimed at enhancing awareness of the intellectual and ethical principles represented by Imam Hussain’s revolution (peace be upon him), and reinforcing values of reform, justice, human dignity, and social responsibility. It also reflects the university’s commitment to strengthening its educational and cultural role in building student awareness and consolidating the principles of tolerance, coexistence, and national identity through activities that integrate academic, ethical, and humanitarian dimensions. The event concluded with prayers for the month of Muharram to be a period of solidarity and brotherhood among people, and for Iraq to enjoy peace, stability, and prosperity.
