Al-Mustaqbal University, in cooperation with the Holy Hussaini Shrine, organized a ceremony to raise the banner of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him) in welcoming the Holy Month of Muharram, under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy. The ceremony was attended by a number of academic and administrative leaders, faculty members, and university staff. The raising of the Hussaini banner marked the beginning of Muharram and commemorated the noble principles embodied in Imam Hussein’s timeless reformist movement. The university emphasized that this occasion serves as an opportunity to promote the humanitarian and ethical values represented by Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him), including sacrifice, justice, reform, and steadfastness in defending truth and principles. The event forms part of the university’s annual cultural and religious activities aimed at strengthening social values and cultural identity while supporting its educational and humanitarian mission. The ceremony concluded with prayers for the safety, prosperity, and stability of Iraq and its people, and for the Holy Month of Muharram to reinforce the values of unity, compassion, and solidarity within society.
