Head of the Optics Technologies Department at Al-Mustaqbal University Inspects Students’ Summer Training at Babel Al-Ahli Hospital

As part of its continuous commitment to strengthening the practical aspects of academic curricula and preparing highly qualified healthcare professionals, the Head of the Optics Technologies Department at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Al-Mustaqbal University, conducted an inspection visit to Babel Al-Ahli Hospital to monitor the progress of the department’s summer training program and assess the development of students’ clinical and professional skills in a real healthcare environment. The visit included direct supervision of the training of 32 students, representing the first group participating in the hospital’s summer internship program. During the visit, a coordination meeting was held with Mr. Mohammed, the Summer Training Coordinator from the Continuing Education Unit at the hospital. The meeting concluded with an agreement to organize and coordinate the training schedules for second- and third-year students, allocating three training days per week within the hospital to ensure comprehensive and intensive clinical training opportunities. The Head of the Department closely observed the training methods adopted by the hospital, which emphasize students' direct involvement in clinical practice. Students were given the opportunity to observe the examination and diagnosis of patients requiring spectacle lens replacement and were gradually engaged in advanced eye examination procedures and diagnostic practices under the supervision of experienced physicians and specialists. The Head of the Department commended the high standard of practical training and healthcare services provided by Babel Al-Ahli Hospital, highlighting its significant role in enhancing students’ clinical competencies and practical skills while enabling them to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom and its real-world clinical application. This visit reflects the Optics Technologies Department’s ongoing commitment at Al-Mustaqbal University to strengthening strategic partnerships with leading healthcare institutions and providing a high-quality training environment that meets the highest standards of academic quality assurance and accreditation. Such initiatives contribute to preparing competent healthcare professionals capable of delivering outstanding medical and humanitarian services to the community.
