In a new achievement added to Al-Mustaqbal University’s record of academic and technological excellence, the Nullpoint Team excelled at the NURAI 2026 National University Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Championship, presenting a technological project that demonstrates the application of Artificial Intelligence in addressing real-world challenges and serving vital sectors. Muslim Aqeel Nahi, a second-year student in the Artificial Intelligence Sciences Department, was one of the team’s prominent members. He actively contributed to the development of the project and represented the university in the national competition, earning a Certificate of Appreciation signed by Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul Dahad, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Affairs and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee, in recognition of his efforts and active contribution to the project’s development. The team presented its innovative project: Petro-Serpent X It is a snake-inspired robot designed with high flexibility, enabling it to navigate deep inside oil and gas pipelines and inspect areas that are difficult for humans to access. The project utilizes Artificial Intelligence and sensing technologies to detect potential cracks, corrosion, and defects inside pipelines. It also creates a Digital Twin that continuously reflects the condition of the infrastructure, contributing to more effective inspection and maintenance processes while enhancing the efficiency and safety of oil and gas facilities. This achievement is the result of continuous scientific efforts under the supervision of Dr. Abdul-Kadhim Abdul-Kareem, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Sciences Department, who provided the team with ongoing academic guidance and support and contributed to transforming their technical ideas and concepts into a practical and developable project. The Artificial Intelligence Sciences Department proudly celebrates this achievement, emphasizing that developing students who possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to compete in scientific and technological forums is an essential part of its academic mission. This distinguished participation in NURAI 2026 further demonstrates that Al-Mustaqbal University students continue to transform their academic knowledge into innovative technological solutions, driven by scientific ambition and capable of serving society and supporting national development.
