Al-Mustaqbal University continues to make tangible progress toward the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), commonly known as the Shanghai Ranking, which is regarded as one of the world’s most rigorous and competitive university rankings.
Under the guidance of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and in cooperation with the Academic Supervisor, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Al-Zuhairi, the Director of Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Tariq Al-Mousawi, and with the support of Consultant Dr. Amer Al-Amir, the University has developed a clearly defined strategic plan aimed at strengthening its presence in global university rankings, particularly the Shanghai Ranking, during 2027 and 2028.
The announced indicators show that the University is continuing to advance along this path. It was placed within List (87), with each list comprising thirty institutions, ranking 18th within that list, corresponding to the 2,598th position globally among the universities and institutions included in the assessment. This represents a notable improvement compared with the University’s first participation in the assessment last year, when its position was beyond the 3,000 mark.
It is worth noting that the ranking authority officially announces only the top 1,000 universities, while other institutions are provided with their assessment results to identify their actual position and track their progress. In this sense, the ranking represents a cumulative pathway through which universities advance gradually from one level to the next.
Al-Mustaqbal University extends its congratulations to its academic and administrative staff on this distinguished progress, wishing them continued success in advancing the University’s academic standing at both the regional and international levels.
