President of Al-Mustaqbal University Explores the Latest Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Technologies at Bristol Robotics Laboratory

Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majidi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, conducted a scientific tour of the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL) at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), to explore the latest research projects and advanced technologies in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, and intelligent systems, involving postgraduate students and researchers in collaboration with a number of international institutions and companies. The tour included an overview of a range of advanced research projects and applications, most notably: • Healthcare Robotics and Smart Living: Exploring applications of assistive robots in home care, healthcare services, and support for older adults through the Personalised Assisted Living Studio. • Autonomous Vehicles and Systems: Reviewing research projects focused on the development of smart vehicles, autonomous driving technologies, and independent systems. • Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial Robotics: Exploring smart manufacturing and hybrid additive manufacturing technologies using advanced industrial robotic arms. • Artificial Intelligence and Interactive Robotics: Reviewing the latest research on quadruped robots and interactive humanoid robots, as well as the integration of artificial intelligence into sensing, movement, and autonomous decision-making. During the tour, the University President emphasized the importance of strengthening engagement with leading international laboratories and research centers and benefiting from international expertise and experiences in knowledge transfer and the localization of advanced technologies. This would contribute to developing the research and educational environment and creating new opportunities for postgraduate students and researchers at Al-Mustaqbal University. The visit reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to strengthening international scientific cooperation and keeping pace with rapid developments in artificial intelligence, robotics, and advanced technologies, supporting its academic and research mission.
